OUR MISSION
Georgia faces one of the highest maternal mortality rates in the U.S., despite advancements in medical technology. The mission of Stories from Their Voices and Eyes is to amplify the lived experiences of women, particularly in Atlanta, Georgia, through storytelling and visual narratives such as art to address this pressing crisis. By documenting and sharing black birthing journeys, our project
will shed light on the systemic disparities and inequities contributing to high maternal mortality rates. Through oral histories, multimedia content, and personal reflections, the initiative strives to raise awareness, inspire action, and advocate for policy changes that ensure equitable, accessible, and compassionate maternal healthcare for all.
